The Department of Psychological and Social Rehabilitation is a structural unit of the "Mother and Child UMCR of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine", which operates for the purpose of diagnosis and psychological and social rehabilitation, conducting correctional and compensatory and educational programs with children and parents.
The department organizes, with the direct participation of medical workers, an educational and correctional process with children aged 3 to 18 and their parents, which ensures the needs of children in psychological rehabilitation and social adaptation, intellectual and emotional development; provides informational and advisory assistance to parents.

The main tasks of the department are:
- improvement of the psycho-emotional background and formation of positive motivation for the treatment process in patients;
- implementation of complex psychological rehabilitation and social adaptation;
- reduction of medication burden on patients during the treatment process;
- the study of individual characteristics of the development of a person with special needs;
- promotion of full-fledged personal, linguistic and intellectual development of children;
- implementation of social correctional programs for children;
- conducting informational and advisory programs for parents within the "Parent School";
- ensuring an individual approach to each child and his parents, taking into account the structure of the primary disorder and related developmental abnormalities.
The department's work is organized on the basis of the Basic Rehabilitation Program of the Medical Center. It includes diagnostic and correctional rehabilitation programs with children and their parents:
Specialists of the department use in their work methods of sensory integration, 3D visualization, hippotherapy, art therapy, classes on the development of cognitive processes, fine motor skills, which are conducted in group and individual formats.
- diagnostic program: psychological and speech therapy examination;
- correctional rehabilitation program: built according to the results of diagnostics, taking into account the individual characteristics of patients;
- the teacher's work includes providing pedagogical assistance to children and parents in matters of education, physical and mental development.
